Leading property developer, Ibraco Berhad (Ibraco), will be spearheading a 76-acre township in Kota Samarahan that will link homes, healthcare facilities, and commercial hubs to Sarawak’s new Autonomous Rail Transit (ART) system.
Known as Arden City, the project is located near the Sarawak Heart Centre, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and the future Sarawak Cancer Centre. Ibraco said in a statement that the master plan includes homes, service apartments, a commercial hub, offices, and community facilities.
“One of its main components is The Atrium, a retail and office cluster positioned opposite the two medical facilities — cancer and heart centres, and also nearby UNIMAS. It is designed to cater to students, healthcare professionals, and nearby residents,” added the press statement.
The township’s serviced apartment project, named Aster Court, will offer 672 units across two towers, which feature dual-key options.
Its facilities will include a swimming pool, gym, games room, multipurpose hall, and children’s play areas, alongside 24-hour security and sheltered walkways. In addition, another special feature of Aster Court is the green corridors, landscaped public spaces, and shaded pedestrian routes along the Arden City, which are all planned to reduce heat and encourage walking.
“A covered walkway will connect the township to the SM05 ART station, improving last-mile access and promote lower-carbon travel.
“Public plazas, wellness areas, and community spaces are intended to encourage social interaction, with flexible zoning to allow future adjustment as the area grows,” it stated. Ibraco group managing director, Datuk Chew Chiaw Han, said Arden City shows how environmental and social priorities can be built into a township.
“It reflects our belief that responsible development must go hand-in-hand with social progress and environmental stewardship,” he said.
Moreover, he added that Arden City aligns with Malaysia’s sustainability targets and supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including sustainable cities, health and wellbeing, and climate action.
