Prominent Sarawak-based property and construction group, Ibraco Bhd, has delivered a robust performance in the first quarter of its financial year, reporting a revenue of RM184.05 million for the period ended March 31, 2025 (1Q25), a remarkable 130% increase from RM80.14 million in the same quarter last year.
The stellar performance was led by the group’s Construction segment, which accounted for RM110.31 million or nearly 60% of total revenue. This was primarily attributed to progressive revenue recognition from several ongoing government infrastructure projects across Sarawak, reinforcing Ibraco’s strong position in the public works sector.
Ibraco’s Property segment also saw impressive growth, with revenue rising to RM63.84 million from RM42.16 million a year ago.
The amazing revenue growth more than doubled the group’s profit after tax to RM14.81 million in 1Q25 compared to RM5.61 million previously.
While acknowledging global economic uncertainties, Ibraco Managing Director Datuk Chew Chiaw Han remained optimistic about Sarawak’s growth prospects, citing strategic government initiatives and increased infrastructure investment as key enablers for sustained momentum.
In addition to its financial achievements, Chew said Ibraco is advancing its environmental, social and governance commitments by embedding responsible development practices and contributing to local economic upliftment through job creation and infrastructure investment.
Looking ahead, he said Ibraco’s Construction division remains a key growth engine, with several projects underway and active participation in new government tenders.
As of March 31, 2025, the group reported unbilled sales of RM285.74 million and an outstanding order book of RM961.89 million, ensuring solid revenue visibility for upcoming quarters.
