Ibraco Berhad Brings Year-End Cheer to Sarawak’s Remote Villages Through ‘Charity Without Borders’ - Business News

Kuching, Sarawak, 24 December 2024 – Ibraco Berhad (“Ibraco”) concluded the year with a meaningful contribution to Sarawak’s remote communities by sponsoring the 11th ‘Charity Without Borders’ event, held from December 12 to 15, 2024. The initiative, organised by Kelab Cabaran Pacuan 4 Roda Bintulu and Hope Place Kuching, supported the Penan villages of Long Tikan, Long Betao, Long Bee, and Long Jekitan in Ulu Baram, Sarawak.

The event was officially flagged off by YB Dennis Ngau, State Assemblyman for Telang Usan.

As the main sponsor for food aid, Ibraco donated 165 boxes of essential supplies and 250 Christmas treats for children, providing crucial relief and festive cheer to these underserved communities. The donations complemented ongoing efforts to ensure the villagers had access to essential supplies, helping them celebrate the holiday season with added joy and support.

At Ibraco, we believe in giving back to the community, especially where needs are most urgent. Kevin Wan, Founder of Hope Place, expressed gratitude for the collaboration, saying, “Our aim for Charity Without Borders is to bring hope and relief, through much needed assistance, to the underprivilege communities in every place we go, without any borders. It is our belief that it is more blessed to give than to receive, and it is with this belief that moves us to strive to do more, with Hope Place.”

“This year’s Charity Without Borders have been a tremendous success, but our mission does not stop here. We will try out utmost best to find the means and ways to improve on future Charity Without Borders mission, to elevate the livelihood of these communities in need, regardless of race and religion,” Kevin added.

Ibraco’s hands-on participation in the distribution of supplies further underscores the company’s commitment to supporting communities in need. The success of the event was also made possible through inaugural support from the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, as well as the Sarawak State Health Department (JKNS), which helped expand its reach and maximize its positive impact. Contributions from other sponsors contributed to the realisation of the charity mission too.
