Ibraco brings Christmas joy to Long Tikan folk in Ulu Baram

MIRI (Dec 18): Ibraco Berhad, together with Bintulu 4×4 Challenge Club and Hope Place Kuching, has braved the challenging journey to Long Tikan in Ulu Baram to deliver special Christmas ‘gifts’ to the rural folks.

Ibraco Berhad managing director Datuk Chew Chiaw Han in a statement said the Charity without Borders’ initiative from Dec 12 to 15 was also sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts as well as Sarawak Energy Berhad.

“As the main sponsor for food aid, Ibraco contributed 165 boxes of essential supplies and 250 Christmas treats to the children in this remote area.

“The event also featured free healthcare services led by a 22-person medical team, including Sarawak Health Department deputy director Dr Azlee Ayub,” he said.

Now in its 11th edition, the convoy was flagged off on Dec 12 here by Sarawak Tourism Board chairman Datuk Dennis Ngau, who is Telang Usan assemblyman.

There were also free dental services and haircuts, as well as games and presentation of Christmas gifts such as a custom-made colouring book by local artist Nia Latif to the children.
