ART, hospital to elevate Ibraco’s new business exchange

Ibraco Bhd’s (Ibraco) newly launched NorthBank Business Exchange (NBX) will be served by an Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) station and linked to a future 300-bed specialist hospital via a dedicated skybridge.
Group managing director Datuk Chew Chiaw Han said the ART connection would support increased activity, connectivity and long-term value creation.
“In planning for The NorthBank, we have also paid attention to pedestrian movement and connectivity between the various components and public transport.
The precinct was officially unveiled at Ibraco Gallery on Monday by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian, alongside Kuching South City Council mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng.
Chew added that the sheltered connection would allow hospital staff, patients, visitors and residents to move safely between the hospital and NBX, protected from the weather and surrounding traffic.
NBX has been planned as a mixed-use destination comprising a neighbourhood mall, offices and lifestyle offerings, together with supporting residential components, within the 123-acre NorthBank township.
At the heart of NBX is a neighbourhood mall to be anchored by a supermarket on a modern hypermarket concept, alongside a cinema, indoor adventure park, enrichment centre, wellness services and assorted food and beverage outlets.
More than 1,000 basement parking bays will be constructed to support the mall.
