Ibraco’s Plant. Eat. Repeat. Microgreens Harvesting Programme with City Growers Kuching
Ibraco recently, on 21 January 2026, initiated the Plant. Eat. Repeat. Microgreens Harvesting Programme – a food and health sustainability program - for 56 primary school students from both the International and National streams of Tunku Putra-HELP School, Kuching. The half-day programme was conducted as part of Ibraco’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and community living.
It was a hand-on educational programme coordinated by City Growers Kuching led by Mr Gabriel Hii — Co-Chairman of the Sarawak CSO-SDG Alliance, which supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The programme’s main objective is to educate the children on the importance of setting and laying the right foundation for their future development, through microgreens harvesting – growing young, edible seedlings of vegetables - and understanding how soil, food, gut health, and the environment are deeply interconnected. Students learn how making the right daily choices — from what we grow to what we eat — can positively impact their overall well-being & growth, as well as the environment and the planet.
Designed as an interactive and experiential learning journey, the programme included:
- An introduction to healthy living and food systems awareness
- Hands-on microgreens planting activities
- Guided discussions exploring the journey from soil to stomach
Following the event day, students will continue nurturing and harvesting their microgreens over a 10-day period, cultivating responsibility, patience, and an appreciation for sustainability.
Ibraco extends its sincere appreciation to Mr Gabriel Hii and the City Growers Kuching team, as well as the dedicated staff of Tunku Putra-HELP School, for making this programme meaningful and impactful.
At Ibraco, we believe that nurturing young minds today helps grow responsible and sustainable communities tomorrow.
