Ibraco, HMI Medical collaborate to establish 300-bed Regency Hospital Kuching
SARAWAK-based property and infrastructure developer Ibraco Bhd has signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Singapore-based Health Management International Pte Ltd (HMI Medical) to establish Regency Hospital Kuching, a 300-bed smart specialist hospital within Ibraco’s NorthBank township in Kuching.
The hospital is slated for launch in 2029 and aims to meet growing demand for advanced healthcare services in Sarawak, Malaysia, and the wider Southeast Asia region.
As part of the collaboration, Ibraco will dispose of its 100%-equity interest in NorthBank Specialist Hospital Sdn Bhd to HMI Medical for RM900,000.
The hospital will be developed on 4.2 acres of leasehold land within the township.
Ibraco’s Group MD Datuk Chew Chiaw Han said the project “reflects our shared aspiration to create lasting community value through sustainable township development,” while HMI Medical’s CEO Chin Wei Jia highlighted the hospital’s role in delivering comprehensive specialist care, creating over 1,000 jobs, and supporting medical tourism in the region.
The MoA exchange was formalised during the Sarawak Mega Fair 2025 in Singapore, witnessed by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari
