Hope Place Kuching is gearing up for its annual ‘Charity Without Borders’ (CWB) initiative, which will reach six remote villages in Baram, located more than 200km from Bintulu.

The charitable organisation is collaborating with Ibraco Berhad and the Sarawak Health Department to deliver essential aid and healthcare services to about 150 households.

In a statement yesterday, Hope Place said Ibraco has contributed RM30,000 to support the programme.

The donation was handed over to its founder Kelvin Wan earlier this week and will be channelled into food assistance for the targeted communities.

The Sarawak Health Department has also confirmed its participation, with deputy director Dr Azlee Ayub agreeing to dispatch a team of medical personnel, including doctors, nurses, dentists and medical assistants.

“The department will conduct general health screenings, check oral hygiene and provide basic medication for villagers.

“We have invited 20 medical professionals to join this charity expedition.

“We are very excited and look forward to this year’s CWB. We appreciate Ibraco Berhad’s support for our cause,” said Wan.

He added that the department’s collaboration was especially meaningful, as healthcare plays a vital part of the annual initiative.

Hope Place welcomes donations to sustain its outreach programmes and will issue receipts upon request.
