Hope Place Kuching is set to roll out its annual Charity Without Borders (CWB) initiative, with this year’s mission extending aid to six villages in Baram, located over 200 kilometres from Bintulu near the Rajang River.
In a statement issued today, the non-governmental organisation (NGO) announced that Ibraco Bhd (Ibraco) and the Sarawak Health Department (JKNS) will be part of the humanitarian effort.
Earlier this week, Ibraco contributed RM30,000 to Hope Place, with the cheque presented to its founder, Kelvin Wan, and witnessed by the NGO’s manager, Yong Tiong Yieng.
According to Wan, the contribution will benefit about 150 families, mainly through food aid.
Meanwhile, JKNS, led by Assistant Director, Dr Azlee Ayub, will deploy a 20-member medical team of doctors, nurses, dentists and medical assistants to conduct health screenings, check oral hygiene, and provide basic medication for villagers.
“We are very excited and looking forward to this year’s CWB.
“We greatly appreciate the support of local companies such as Ibraco Bhd, and we value JKNS’ collaboration, as healthcare is an important part of our mission,” said Wan.
